Established in 1986, due to the rising demand for professional expertise in the burgeoning export industry of India, the National Institute of Fashion Technology initiated and backed by the Ministry of Textile, Government of India, a never-ending era of innovation in the field of the rag trade was started. NIFT Patna Campus, an integral part of the National Institute of Fashion Technology, contributes to the institute’s legacy by consistently shaping technically adept leaders in the realms of design, fashion, and textiles, propelling the industry forward with innovation and global relevance. Eligibility for joining the UG Course
- The minimum age limit to apply for NIFT 2022 is 23 years as of 1st October 2022 for the General category.
- 5 years Age relaxation will be given to SC/ST/PHP candidates.
- For B.F.Tech (Duration: 4 years)
- The candidate should have passed the secondary or equivalent examination with major subjects Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from any recognized board. A three or four years Diploma recognized by the AICTE or State Board of Technical Education can also apply.
- For B. Des (Duration: 4 years)
- The candidate should have passed the secondary or equivalent examination from any recognized board. A three or four years Diploma recognized by the AICTE or State Board of Technical Education can also apply.

Admission Procedure
For PG courses of NIFT, the exam that you have to give for getting admission is the same as the one that a UG course aspirant will give, following the same procedures. The only difference will be that the paper for M.Des will have a different pattern than the one given by the M.FTech and MFM, even though the syllabus will remain the same. The written exam is followed by situational and GD/PI testing, clearing which you will be ready to fulfill your dream of studying at one of the top Indian designing institutes.

Age is no bar for becoming a part of any of the NIFT’s PG courses.
- For M.Des and MFM (Both have a duration of 2 years)
- The candidate must have an undergraduate degree in any discipline from any recognized institute or university or an undergraduate diploma of a minimum of three years duration from NIFT/NID.
- For M.FTech (Duration: 2 years)
- The candidate must have a degree of B.E/ B.Tech from any recognized university/ institute by the correct authorities of India or B.FTech from NIFT.
