The Ajeenkya DY Patil University (ADYPU) is a private university in Lohegaon, Pune, Maharashtra, that is part of the DY Patil Group, an educational conglomerate in India. The University Grants Commission has formally certified it (UGC). ADYPU was created in 2015 under the Maharashtra Government Act by Padmashree Dr. DY Patil, the former governor of Bihar.
Under the Educational Excellence Awards, ADYPU has named the best private university in 2018. The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) named ADYPU the finest private university in India in 2019 and named it the ‘Best Innovation in Education.’ Ajeenkya was also named one of the Best Education Brands for 2018-19 by the Economic Times.
