Photography

p13

Photography is the art of creating an image by catching the light with a camera, usually using a digital sensor or film. You may even picture wavelengths of light that are invisible to the naked eye, such as UV, infrared, and radio, with the correct camera equipment. Joseph Nicéphore Niépce of France took the first permanent image in 1826 (other accounts state 1827). It depicts the sun shining on a building’s roof.

Many people nowadays feel that their phone can handle most photography tasks and that they don’t need to invest in a separate camera. What’s more, you know what? They are not mistaken. A dedicated camera is an overkill for the majority of individuals.

For most people’s needs, phones are superior to dedicated cameras. They’re faster and easier to use, and they integrate seamlessly with social networking. If your phone isn’t good enough for the photographs you want (like photographing sports or low-light conditions) or if you’re interested in photography as a hobby, you should acquire a dedicated camera.

It may seem strange coming from a photographer, but it’s true. You already have everything you need for photography if you have a camera of any kind, especially a cell phone camera. What more may be said if you have a more advanced camera, such as a DSLR or mirrorless camera? Your equipment is up to the task.

Depending on the photographer’s goals, photography can serve a variety of purposes. Documentary and news photographers, for example, create photos in order to provide a full account of actual occurrences, whereas hobbyist photographers want to capture live moments with their families and friends.

Some of the ways you can enjoy photography are as follows:

  • Learning how to use the camera (and experimenting with it)
  • Taking images of something you imagine or a concept you formed.
  • At home, you can keep experimenting with photo processing in Lightroom and other tools.
  • Meeting new people who are interested in photography
  • Traveling to new places in the hopes of capturing a stunning shot.
  • Hiking all day for the sole purpose of seeing a sunset and photographing it
